TrueFaced Trust God and Others With Who You Really Are Bill Thrall John Lynch Bruce McNicol Books

TrueFaced by Bill Thrall, Bruce McNicol and John Lynch is a Christian book focused on personal growth and spiritual living.

The authors delve into two motivating factors in the lives of Christians: the desire to please God and the desire to trust God, so as to be redeemed for our sins.

This book encourages the reader to be himself to his fellow man and to God. God already knows us for whom we are, and he can see past the masks that we put on. We do not need to put on masks for others, and especially not for God.

The authors explain that we are not accepted into heaven based on our good deeds or how we present ourselves to each other, but rather by our faith and trust in God.

I did not particularly care for the writing style in this book. It seemed choppy and did not really flow well. As if... three different people wrote the book!

TrueFaced Trust God and Others With Who You Really Are Bill Thrall John Lynch Bruce McNicol Books Reviews

This is an excellent read. We all want to please God but it's so easy to get caught up in doing things that we believe God (or the church) wants us to do. God made each of us unique and He wants to us to allow Him to mkae us into what He desires for us. We are so afraid that others will see our faults, our blemishes that we hide behind false lies that really are not what we are. We need to rest in Him! Enter the room of Grace, where He can change us from the inside out.
I loved this book. My daughter send me an except out of the book on email and it enticed me to order the book. After reading it, I ordered 5 more copies to give away and am planning on ordering at least two more. This book puts living the Christian life in easy to understand language and gives hope and encouragement to those of us who are Christians but have missed the joy and fulfillment of living life in "the room of grace" on a day-to-day basis. I am in my 70's so we're "never too old" to learn or change.
Love this book. Arrived fast and it’s In good shape. I have the revised version of this book as well but I like this version too. It’s more in depth.
I actually did not receive the order, I would like to know how it was cancelled and order again. I have read the book and that is why I wanted to purchase more. I have given several copies to friends, hoping they would actually read this. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ this is a must read. There are truths in here that most people do not understand or believe for some reason. Stop trying to please God,it really is about the grace and truth God say and has done for us. This book will set many people free from the small thinking that MOST of the time we view God in or as.... Read it!
Bought this for my husband who went through this book with a small group of men and their pastor. He could not say enough about how it was benefiting him and he even shared with our home group several times out of it. I am reading it now too and t seems to be a great addition for anyone wanting to learn how to live an authentic life and relationship with God.
This is a fantastic book written in a compassionately artistic way. I found myself wanting to dig out my counseling books to relive passages of unconditional love for clients that transforms destructive behavior while also wanting to read anew Lewis' Till We Have Faces. After just teaching To Kill a Mockingbird for this year, many elements inspired me to piece together thematic elements of grace, compassion, courage and love as well. In response to the person who reviewed that this was "nothing new", I respond by stating that though the literal writing and response to grace "isn't new", grace is always new, transforming, and differently unique in the life of the believer, and these authors portray it well. This book made me deeply cry and praise God throughout it for the redemption of His unfailing love, grace, and power. Isn't that really the point anyway?
This book explores the subject of wearing masks and the negative impact it has on individuals and the Christian Community ... written in a very conversational and inviting manner ... are you in the Room of Good Intentions or the Room of Grace? Are you hiding behind a mask (or masks) or are you living in the peace and joy of authenticity? The authors will make the case for turning the door knob of humility to enter the Room of Grace and how the life in that room is so very different than the Room of Good Intentions ... this is not just a "feel good" book ... practical and insightful information about the freedom that comes from taking off the masks and experiencing a real and vibrant Christian life. They will explain the road blocks and fears that keep people in the Room of Good Intentions and how to deal with those obstacles on the way to the Room of Grace which is full of "Broken Healers". Discover the beautiful gifts from the Lord awaiting you as you dismantle the masks and lay them aside for good. Recommended.
I loved this book, yet even better is the DVD of John's sermon summing this book up in a mere wonderful 45 minutes. If you can't find the dvd I believe you can see this on Youtube under "Truefaced".
I have read this book multiple times with different study groups. I started reading with a highlighter pen in my hand, but then realized that the whole book was going to be in bright yellow!
This is a refreshing read or view for me as my church is just coming out from under a legalistic teaching from a recent pastor. The message here is one of love and freedom and the fact that Jesus has done the work and we can rest in that knowledge and be light to each other.
Please see John's sermon, it's great and you won't regret it............
